Diwali in Kathmandu, Nepal

Diwali / Tihar is the festival of Light for the Hindu calendar it is a 5 day celebration and people put offerings towards Crows, Dogs, Cow, Ox and finally to brothers and sisters.  During the week the houses and shops are adorned with colourful lights and garlands made from fresh flowers.

Last night the 3rd Day the shops in Kathmandu, started to out these colourful offerings outside their businesses and they way they are present welcome good spirits in to their shops.  Some of the designs are small and simple, but some were amazing  as well as colourful and intricate.  Some come with food offerings, some candles.  I will let you see through my photographs I took last night and more can be found on my web site at https://goo.gl/Mf55vY
